The Rush Triathlon and Lindsay's New Car

I am so proud of Brian!! On Saturday he did his first triathlon!! Brian and my sister Marcy both did the Rush Triathlon in Rexburg. They both did awesome!! Brian worked really hard over the last few weeks to get ready for the triathlon. It included a 1/2 mile swim, a 14.2 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run.
It was great fun...and thanks Jeff and Megan for letting us come stay at your new house!! Brian and I right before he had to get in the water at Rainbow Lake. The water was warmer than the air that morning! We were so glad Aunt Mel and Uncle Josh could come cheer Brian on, and help with Eva.
This is us right after the race. Just two hours and two minutes from the start!!
Way to go Marcy and Brian!! Marcy cut off almost 30 minutes from her last triathlon!
I guess I need to practice my swimming and bicycling so I can do this next year!!
Here is my new car I picked up yesterday...a 2009 Kia Spectra. Okay, so really it is just a rental, but I can pretend it is mine for a week or so I guess because my car is not driveable!!
So, Saturday night, at about 11:30, Brian and I were awakened by a very large crash outside our window. We looked out and saw that my car had moved about six feet forward from where we had left it. My car had been parked on the side of the road in front of our house.
Long story short, a driver (who we are pretty sure was drunk) hit my car. The car they were driving ended up in the middle of the road two houses down from us. The airbags were deployed and that car was not going anywhere, but the driver and passenger were. They jumped in their friend's truck that was following behind them. Yeah, they left the car right in the middle of the road. The driver then called their significant other (whose car they were driving) and told them to call the cops and report their car stolen because they had just wrecked. The owner of the car was smart enough to not do that. The night next the police finally found the driver of the vehicle and they were cited for Driving without Privileges and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
This is the suspect car that was left in the middle of the road. Both cars had to be towed away. Lucky for us, the owner has full coverage.

The Challenger

They were giving free train rides today on old Union Pacific Railroad passenger cars. We got to ride on the Challenger. Apparently it was a pretty popular train in the 40s and went from Chicago to LA. It was a great ride!!Waiting at the depot.
