Eva in the Newspaper

Eva had her picture in the local paper yesterday. This is what the article said:

Appreciation banquet held

Mariska Smith, 3, and Eva Grimm, 2, were enjoying their afternoon at the recent 10th annual public service appreciation and veterans appreciation barbecue hosted by Jared and Michelle Clinger of Colonial Funeral Home. This year’s menu was especially tasty due to the culinary talents of John Perkes, owner of FAT BBQ and full-time employee of Colonial Funeral Home.

Each year, all law enforcement agencies — Pocatello Police, Chubbuck Police, Pocatello Fire Department, Chubbuck Fire Department, Idaho State Police, Idaho State University public safety, and Bannock County Sheriff Department, as well as all Pocatello veterans and their families — were invited to come and enjoy brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and chicken.

Perkes has won regional awards for his barbecue rubs and sauces. This year he is looking forward to a national barbecue event in Kansas City.

Clinger added, “We should be grateful to all public safety personnel and veterans who have made and continue to make this country the greatest on earth.”

Heart & Sole 5K

Brian and I ran in another 5K on Saturday. I was really happy with my time...33 minutes. The race started and ended at the new hospital they are building up on the hill. The first half was great because it was all downhill, but then we had to go back up...which wasn't as great. But we made it. I let Brian take off ahead of me in the beginning since we didn't have Eva in the stroller this time. He finished five minutes before me. I'm so grateful he wants to run with me. It helps me stay motivated! Here we are after the race. Thank you to Brian's sister, Charmaine, for bringing Eva to meet us at the finish line. I think we would have died trying to push her back up the hill in the stroller! You can see my belly in the picture. I am now 23 weeks pregnant (around 5 months). When I was pregnant with Eva, I ran until I was 30 weeks and then stuck to walking.
The next race is on July 10th, so if anyone wants to come and run and/or walk with me and Brian, that would be awesome!!!
