The Pocatello Marathon - I did it!!!!

I did it!! I completed my first marathon!!

That's right - 26.2 miles - in a row!!

I decided earlier this year that I wanted to do a marathon...so, I paid my entry fee for the Pocatello Marathon, http://pocatellomarathon.com/, found a training schedule online, and tried my best to stick to it. Once I paid my money, there was no turning back! I think I did pretty good with my training, but, before the marathon, the furthest I actually ran in one day was only 14 miles. Summer is just so busy! Needless to say, I was very happy with my time on my marathon - 4:58:05. Yeah, less than 5 hours!! That's awesome, for me anyway!! It was a great experience, and I just might do it again. The scenery was beautiful for the first half of the marathon, not that the second half was really bad or anything. Here I am at Mile 12 waiting for the porta-potty. Luckily I only had to use those once :)My sister-in-law Holly met me at Mile 15 to run with me to the end. It was great to have someone there with me when it started getting hard and my legs were getting worn down. Only 1.2 miles to go!! The end is so close!!I made it!! I still have to get the pictures off my mom's camera of me actually crossing the finish line. Thank you so much, Holly, for coming to run with me. Just like the good ol' days, but we are way better runners now!! My Mom, Marcy, Zach's family, and Jeff's family were all here to help take care of Eva and Ely while I was running and they were there to cheer me on in a couple spots along the course. It was so nice to hear encouraging words along the way.

So, anybody want to go running?? Brian and I are running in a 10k next weekend, the 17th. I am running a half marathon on November 5th. It's all downhill!! You should come join me.

I don't know why you wasted your time waiting in line. I heard all you have to do is squat on the side of the road. :)
Great job on your marathon! I'm almost convinced to do a half...

Becky, You could totally do it! We should do one the next time you come to Idaho. Well, maybe the time after that because I don't know of any Christmastime halves in Idaho. :)
Yeah, I guess I could have just gone off in the bushes...nah, lets save that for camping when there is not an option!!

I'm glad you used the bathroom! You don't want to be one of "those" runners ;)
It was so fun to run with you! I'm planning on doing the half in november too with you.
Love the pics...especially the shadow one. So cool!

Good JOB Lindsay!
